Originally from Phoenix, I traded the Arizona desert in for the open plains of South Dakota for 7 years. My husband, son, and I planted our roots in our beloved home in Minnesota in 2026!

Before relocating, I went to school for cosmetology right after graduating high school.  I worked in the hair industry between Phoenix and South Dakota for a handful of years before I decided to move on, realizing I was falling out of love with the industry & process.

After doing some soul searching, I realized photography has followed me through my entire journey. It was a huge part of my life both for leisure and for work. While I'm no longer in the hair industry, it did teach me a handful of things I will carry over, one thing being that you should never stop continuing your education. It's something I pride myself in. I am always making sure I am up to date with everything I need to know about my camera, settings, or any other gear, and consistently pushing myself out of my comfort zone. Another thing I took with me is how learning from others is so important for the growth of your art, never letting your ego stop you from learning something new! I've also come to realize that your artistic style will never truly be fixed; it's an organism that grows and changes right alongside you.

Photography has never been just "clicking a button" for me. It has been all about finding moments that make me feel something down deep to my bones. Being able to bring out that raw emotion via something that you created was something I so desperately missed in the hair industry. Y'know what they say, "Earth without Art is just Eh." Plus, Tolstoy said, "A work of art which does not begin in emotion is not art." Couldn't have said it better myself.
